What we do

Eric
At Colwyn and District Cats Protection we are a dedicated group of volunteers.  Cat welfare is our priority and we aim to:

  • Rescue, rehabilitate and rehome cats and kittens in need
  • Encourage neutering of all cats and kittens
  • Educate the public on all aspects of cat care and welfare

We do not have an adoption centre but rely on volunteer fosterers to care for the cats either in an outdoor heated pen or in a spare room.  These foster spaces are limited and we operate a waiting list in an attempt to prioritise cats in desperate need.

Non domestic (feral) cats are a large part of our work due to the many farms and smallholdings in our area.  These cats are trapped, neutered and returned to site (occasionally relocated).

Please like our Facebook page www.facebook.com/ColwynCatsProtection as we post about cats needing homes and fundraising events.

Our charity shop on Madoc Street, Llandudno, is run by fantastic volunteers to raise funds to help all these cats in need across North Wales.  Please like the shop’s own Facebook page to keep up to date with events and special items www.facebook.com/LlandudnoCatsProtection

Our lost and found register is now run on Animal Search UK, in order to have one central national database, please see our Lost and Found page for more information.

Our branch covers the following postcode areas: LL17-19, LL24-34, LL15/16/21 (shared with Wrexham Adoption Centre)
