ANTIFREEZE KILLS

 The taste and smell of antifreeze is attractive to cats and other animals and will kill them if they lap it up.  If you have any stored in your garage please be sure it is in a leakproof container.  If you are topping up the antifreeze in your car for the winter months, please be careful to clean up any which is spilt.
There is a petition on the internet (and in some vets in our area), www.antifreezekills.co.uk asking the Government to compel manufacturers to remove the lethal element in antifreeze. Please sign this if you are able to.

 REDUCED PRICE MICROCHIPPING 

The RSPCA has asked us to spread the word that their centre at Bryn-y-Maen, Upper Colwyn Bay will microchip your cat for £5.  All you have to do is telephone 0300 123 745, if the line is busy, select option 4 and leave a message with your contact details.  You can make an appointment to take your cat to Bryn-y-Maen.  The RSPCA wants to encourage microchipping because the more animals which can be identified means fewer have to be taken in for rehoming. 
Colwyn Branch hope to start microchipping all foster  cats early next year.
